Rent a tux or buy a nice suit?
i've got a big, formal event coming up and i'm wondering if i should buy or rent.
this is an annual event and for the past three i have worn a suit...the same suit!...accented with different ties, shirt, etc. this year, though, i am the host of the event and would like to do something more formal...like a tux.
however, i am totally into being able to get the most bang for the buck and can see buying a nice suit over renting a tux...i can wear the suit again. i don't want ot buy a tux becuase i ... (Asked by Michael JB) |

I bought a suit for my wedding 20 years ago. I was in Germany at the time when the Mark was worth squat to tht dollar. Had it custom made, and other than being a bit dated as to the cut and the lapels, I still have it and it still fits OK.
Renting a tux is just a waste of dough. You buy the suit, and you always have it. Plus the cost ain't really that much different if you shop carefully and don't go for top of the line stuff. (Men's Warehouse has some really great stuff, and ...(Answered by rifleman01@verizon.net) |

Need to rent a suit?
I need a black suit for a funeral and i have to idea where to go to rent one. The only place i could think of is GQ menswear thats close to here but idk if they do rentals. I need to find a place within 20-30 miles of Salisbury, Nc 28147. Thanks for your help
No the closest one is in Charlotte, about 50 miles away and i hate driving in that city

Do you really want to wear a rental that other guys have worn and sweat in? You're better off buying a grey or black single button suit with flat front slacks. Of course a white long sleeved shirt and a simple elegant tie. I suggest purchasing the suit because you can get it tailored (and nothing looks better on a man than a tailored suit; regardless of the occasion) and the simple, timeless look of black or grey will make it very versatile.
