Repair handbag?
Hi there, so I was at Goodwill yesterday and saw a couple Louis Vuittons. Whether it was real or not is besides the point... I just want to know what exactly I can get fixed on a handbag. Nothing seemed to be ripped. It just looked dirty and any brass on it looked scratched. Can a shoe repair shop fix any of this or do you guys have any suggestions? ... (Asked by Need answers)

A.
Depends on what Louis Vuitton bag you're talking about. If its the monogram canvas you can just wipe it off with a damp cloth. (thats how I clean both my monogram canvas and epi leather). I dont know what you can do about the brass being scratched...sorry. I would take it to a reputable shoe repair shop and ask their opinion. They might be able to buff the scratches out. ...(Answered by GAjen)

You need to go to a Rolex concessionaire. They will most probably send the watch to a Rolex Service Center. Your watch needs to be cleaned, perhaps exchange parts and a new glass. This is going to be costly, rough estimation $US700-1000. Repair will take about a month easily. But you'll get a vintage back, as good as new. It's worth the money if you are attached to the watch only. ...(Answered by plie3824)

Q.
Repair leather jacket and 'fashion' question.?
Has anyone got any idea how I could repair the buttons on a leather jacket? As in they're hanging off quite a bit and the leather is so thick that it bends them before letting a needle go through. That said, does it look too bad if someone of an average height, but quite thin wears a large size leather jacket? ... (Asked by Eden)

A.
You can take them to a tailor, usually they can repair leather and have the proper needles for it. You can also buy needles that are heavy enough to go through leather but it's really difficult to do yourself. If the jacket looks like your "swimming" in it, it's not a good look. If the sleeve length goes past your hands and the shoulders hang off of yours it will just look like you're wearing your big brothers jacket. Leather jackets should fit. Again, a tailor can modify it so that it will fit properly. ...(Answered by funkydesign03)

A.
No. If a lab tried to grind the scrathes out it would change the prescripion. Something to try in the future would be a "Polycarbonate" lens, with an anti-reflective coating like "Crizal" or "scotchguard." I recomend going to Eye Masters, they have the best scrach resstant lenses. Good Luck with that ...(Answered by Rachel)

Q.
Nacre? Where can I get some nacre, for 'painting' and repairing 'pearls' on costume jewelry?
I have several pieces of costume jewelry that have little pearls on them. One in particular, a marvelous old pin, would look perfect if only the surface of all of the 'pearls' were complete. I know that it used to be possible to buy nacre. I think this was crushed mother-of-pearl or even crushed pearls, in solution of some kind. The nacre would be painted over the surface of the 'pearls' to give them an authentic appearance. Where can this be bought, today? ... (Asked by ABQQ)
